Non-Discrimination in Placement and Employment Aids
Apply the Walloon Decree of November 6, 2008 in the regional matters of recruitment, placement, training and employment aids. Provide the reasonable accommodations necessary for candidates with disabilities.
Article 5 notably addresses placement, vocational training, employment aids and employment of foreign workers, within the limits of regional competences. It also covers labor relations of the Walloon public services and organizations concerned. It does not replace the federal laws applicable to private employment.
Article 15 prohibits direct and indirect discrimination, discriminatory instructions, harassment and refusal of reasonable accommodation. Protected criteria include age, disability, health status, origin, language and beliefs. Remove any legally unjustified exclusions from ads and pre-selections.
Article 13 requires appropriate adjustments to access employment or training, except disproportionate burden. Public aid sufficiently compensating for this burden falls within the assessment. The consolidated version consulted has been in force since August 17, 2024.
