APE: Reform Announced for 2027
The Government has announced integration of APE support into sectoral policies starting in 2027. The March 2026 communique describes a draft adopted in first reading, not itself a finally published rule.
The communique regarding the decision of March 19, 2026 announces the repeal of the APE scheme as of January 1, 2027. It specifies that the Government adopted in first reading a draft framework decree organizing employment support through sectoral policies.
The draft notably provides for publication of beneficiaries, allocation criteria and coordination with the Wallonia-Brussels Federation. To prepare for hiring financed beyond 2026, obtain confirmation of funding and sectoral rules applicable from the subsidizing authority.
This sheet documents the official announcement and its planned schedule. It does not allow eliminating an APE right in progress in September 2026 or guaranteeing a candidate the same funding in 2027.
