Social Fund: childcare assistance
CP 121 provides for Social Fund assistance with childcare costs. Inform recruits of this benefit and documents to retain.
The collective agreement of November 29, 2023, made mandatory by royal decree of October 25, 2024 published December 11, 2024, adds childcare assistance to Social Fund benefits. Articles 42 to 47 inserted in the base collective agreement grant rights for costs from January 1, 2024, with first payment in 2025.
The assistance is 2 euros gross per day of childcare incurred and per child, for a maximum of 150 days per calendar year. It covers children until the year they turn 12. The worker must have performed duties under CP 121 during the relevant year.
A tax certificate must justify childcare in an approved facility or after-school program. Annual payment is based on the previous year's costs; the limitation period is three years after the end of the relevant year.
