Migration list of skilled occupations
The list from the ministerial decree of December 1, 2025 opens a procedure without prior labour market testing. It is distinct from VDAB's general shortage occupation list.
Since January 1, 2026, verify the function and its tasks in the current migration list. The page mentions in particular roofers, excavating machine operators, and nursing assistants. A similarity in title is not sufficient: some descriptions expressly exclude similar activities.
Truck drivers are among the functions removed from this procedure. An existing authorization can be renewed for the same function with the same employer. A change of employer requires examining the Overige category if the occupation remains on the VDAB list.
The employer must apply the joint commission and classification corresponding to an experienced or qualified worker, never an unqualified classification for these functions. Posting and employment by a foreign company are not allowed in this category.
