Flanders: IT, accounting, and payroll shortages in 2026
The VDAB 2026 list identifies recruitment difficulties in IT, accounting and payroll. It helps target skills truly essential in the offer.
The edition published 1 February 2026 includes notably accountant, payroll advisor, software developer, software analyst, system manager, network manager and ICT support worker. Difficulties may stem from the number of available candidates or a mismatch between their skills and needs.
Use findings specific to the trade to adapt recruitment and plan candidate training. The VDAB clarifies that its nomenclature changed in 2026: annual lists are therefore not directly comparable. This document describes tensions on the Flemish labor market; it is not sufficient to establish an exemption from work permit or entitlement to assistance.
