CP 200: classify finance, payroll, and IT roles

Legal obligationVerified

The class depends on the actual content of the position. Standard CP 200 roles serve as comparison to write the job description and choose the minimum wage.

The sectoral list places accounting employee and personnel administration employee in class C. It places accountant, cost analyst and HR assistant in class D. A commercial job title is therefore not sufficient to determine the classification of a payroll manager.

In IT, the ICT operator and PC technician are in class C; programmer, system operator and database manager are in class D. The employer must compare actual responsibilities and tasks with exemplary functions and level criteria. The legal reference is the classification CLA of 9 June 2016, applicable from 1 July 2016.
