When to organize preliminary health assessment
Medical surveillance depends on position risks. For a covered position, preliminary assessment must occur before actual assignment.
Title 4 of Book I of the Wellbeing Code frames health surveillance. Risk analysis, with the occupational health doctor and intervention of the competent committee, determines covered positions. Screen work does not automatically require mandatory surveillance.
Under Article I.4-26, assessment may precede contract signature if it constitutes the final selection step and the contract actually results when the candidate is declared fit. It may also follow signature but must precede risk exposure.
Article I.4-13 prohibits additional exams outside the provided framework. Fitness is assessed for a specific position at the time of exam. The page displays no update date; the date used is the Code's entry into force, June 12, 2017.
