Gender equality from job posting
The Gender law of May 10, 2007 applies to job postings, selection criteria, and pay. Pregnancy or family responsibilities cannot be used to reject an application.
Article 4 notably protects sex, pregnancy, medically assisted reproduction, motherhood, family responsibilities, gender identity and expression, sexual characteristics, and medical or social transition. Article 6, § 2, explicitly covers job postings and pay setting.
Article 13 limits direct sex-based distinctions to essential and determining professional requirements under legal conditions. Describe actual tasks and constraints rather than seeking a man or woman for stereotyped reasons.
For writing, the guide from the Institute for Gender Equality, September 2025 edition, recommends neutral titles and M/F/X mention. For a posting with M/F/X, apply these neutrality principles. This mention does not replace non-discriminatory selection. Guide verified: https://igvm-iefh.belgium.be/fr/documentation/egalite-dacces-lemploi-informations-et-conseils-pratiques-pour-les-employeurs
