Part-time: minimum reduced to one-tenth in June 2026

The May 18, 2026 law on various work-related provisions, published June 1, 2026, reduces part-time weekly minimum duration from 1/3 to 1/10 of full-time workers. This change appears in articles 5 to 9 and 27.

For a hiring taking effect from June 1, 2026, do not present one-third-time as general legal minimum. Check applicable exceptions; the law maintains the possibility to exempt by royal decree for certain sectors, companies or workers. This reform of weekly volume does not dispense from checking other rules on services and schedules.
