Regular telework: written agreement and expenses

Legal obligationVerified

Structured telework is voluntary and must be formalized individually. Collective Agreement No. 85 governs conditions to announce and contractualize.

Articles 2 and 5 target regular work outside facilities, via information technology, which could be performed in the company. The regime does not cover mere mobile work. Telework may be agreed at hiring or later.

Article 6 imposes writing by telework start, or an amendment to existing contract. Mention its frequency, availabilities and contact means, technical support, expenses, return procedures and chosen places. Absent writing, the worker may enter or re-enter facilities.

Articles 7 to 10 guarantee comparable conditions and require the employer provide equipment, its maintenance and connection and communication costs. If the employee uses their own equipment, set expense coverage for telework-related costs before start. The coordinated version integrates collective agreement No. 85 bis, effective February 27, 2008.
