Resignation: notice period duration
Verify the candidate's notice period before setting availability. The first six months rule changes for contracts starting from August 1, 2026.
For these new contracts, the worker owes one week notice before six months' seniority. For contracts started earlier, they owe one week before three months and two weeks from three to less than six months.
Thereafter, periods are three weeks from six to less than twelve months, four from twelve to less than eighteen months, five from eighteen to less than twenty-four months and six from two to less than four years.
The table provides seven weeks from four to less than five years, nine from five to less than six years, ten from six to less than seven years and twelve from seven to less than eight years. From eight years, the maximum is thirteen weeks. These periods apply to both manual workers and employees.
