Recruitment AI: high-risk classification
Annex III to Regulation 2024/1689 covers AI tools for targeting job advertisements, screening applications and assessing candidates. Classify each use before choosing or deploying a tool.
Point 4 of Annex III covers recruitment and selection, as well as certain decisions on working conditions, promotion, termination and worker assessment. This category applies to recruiters in all sectors; it is not limited to IT companies.
Article 6 provides for limited exceptions for certain uses that pose no significant risk; an Annex III system that performs profiling remains high-risk.
