Dangerous work and health surveillance

Analyze risks before the student arrives and organize required health surveillance.

Book X, Title 3 of the Well-Being Code is the current reference for young worker protection. Article X.3-3: analysis before work, updated at least annually and when there is a significant change. Article X.3-8 and Annex X.3-1 notably prohibit dangerous exposures, processes, and machines.

Article X.3-11: exemption for a student requires notably age 18, studies corresponding to the activity, controlled measures, an experienced worker present, and prior opinion from the prevention adviser and committee. Motorized handling equipment has a special regime under Article X.3-11/1; do not automatically assign a student to a forklift.

Article X.3-12 organizes health surveillance. Arrange for the required prior assessment, notably for minors, night work, and work normally prohibited but authorized by exemption. Safety positions, vigilance roles, or defined-risk positions also require appropriate surveillance.
