Student status, apprenticeship, and exclusions

ONSS 2026/3 admits recognized apprenticeship, excluding classes and practical training, without unemployment or job-seeker benefits. The student employer must normally be different from the training supervisor.

Exception in July and August when the apprenticeship contract is inactive: the same employer is admitted. Theoretical training only on a part-time basis only allows student work during school holidays. Other evening or reduced-schedule classes are excluded.

After twelve consecutive months with the same employer, ordinary contract rules apply.
