From age 15: conditions and light work
Since May 4, 2026, certain 15-year-olds still subject to full-time schooling can perform light work.
Child labor remains generally prohibited. At 15, completion of the first two years of secondary school allows exit from full-time schooling obligation; this ends by age 16 at the latest. Before age 15, a regular student job is not permitted.
For 15-year-olds still subject to this obligation, only authorized light activities are suitable: reception, cloakroom, restocking, sales assistance, certain logistics operations, light cleaning, and distribution or clearing of meals in care settings. They cannot require specific training or use of mechanical equipment.
Verify actual tasks before publishing the offer. They must preserve health, development, and schooling; working during classes is excluded. Prior risk analysis required by Article X.3-3 of the Well-Being Code remains mandatory.
