Temporary worksites: coordination and prevention

Legal obligationVerified

The Royal Decree of January 25, 2001 governs the organization of safety on temporary or mobile worksites. Plan coordination and instructions before assembling teams.

Article 2 covers notably construction, renovation, excavation, repair, and demolition. When multiple contractors are involved, simultaneously or successively, check coordination obligations in design and execution according to the site configuration.

Article 26 requires a health and safety plan in the cases it defines, notably certain work presenting particular risks. Article 30 organizes its integration into market documents, with procedures and exemptions provided by the text. A job offer does not replace these documents.

Article 50 requires contractors to implement prevention measures concerning notably access, circulation, handling, equipment maintenance, and interactions between companies. When recruiting a site manager, distinguish their tasks from those of the health and safety coordinator, a role subject to its own conditions. The PDF notably incorporates the amendment of April 7, 2023, published April 14, 2023.
