Alcohol sales: verify customer age

The SPF Public Health page, updated June 23, 2026, prohibits selling, serving, or offering alcohol to those under 18. Beer and wine are permitted from age 16 if they contain no added spirits or spirit flavor. The professional must verify age with official ID and refuse sale if in doubt.

Incorporate these checks in onboarding students and checkout or service staff. This source addresses the recipient’s age; it does not provide a general prohibition on hiring servers under 18. To assign a minor to service, separately check permitted tasks, schedules, and young worker protection rules.
